Shirazi jee, you have listed some valid contradictions in Bhutto’s message for masses and his actions. In my opinion it was not the feudal in Bhutto that caused his demise. I think he tried to become what he was not and this created his problem. Had he remained steadfast to what he was and would not have opted to appease a smaller section of society, he could have survived. I dont think he was “so called” liberal. I think he was a genuine liberal but opted to become conservative that didnt served him well. I dont know why he did that. Perhaps he became scared or perhaps he had that one weak moment which led to a decision that ultimately created a snowballed effect.Regardless, in my opinion there has been no one like him in our politics.
