24 Sep, 2020 at 12:57 am #1Recently there are multiple news stories about secret meetings of Politicians and military leadership. Today Maryam Nawaz said issues should be discussed in Parliament instead of such covert meetings. DG ISPR said well in last month or so PMLN’s Muhammad Zubair met COAS twice on Sharif’s behalf.
Does he even realize such meetings are equally bad for both parties. COAS is as big of a culprit as any politician or their representatives. Military interference in politics forces such meetings. If military stays aloof why politicians will meet them?

24 Sep, 2020 at 1:53 am #2Shirazi Sahib:After the DG ISPR appeared in a known Boot TV channel and we all heard directly from the horse mouth , what kind of credibility or integrity left on either side. Why Mr. Zubair decided to meet them in private is something he has to answer and the PMLN must hold him responsible for such acts . But now lets move back to this rouge regime of Corrupt Generals and their activities. How sordid is this affair ? and why the ISPR now compelled to disclose the existing of such meetings after NS exposed them in public . He himself warned us about what goes on behind the doors and how the filthy hands of chor commanders and COAS directly micromanage the politics and politicians sitting behind the closed doors. And where does this leave the selected PM of present Governemnt and his control over the matters. A lots has been dispensed but I bet you not a leaf will move and no one including the Judiciary will ever find enough courage to bring them in court and hold them accountable. They will get away with this as same as they get away in the past .

24 Sep, 2020 at 6:18 am #4@zaidi SahibI am not sure how PMLN is equally answerable. PMLN is squeezed by military through NAB and Courts. If there leaders are using their contacts to draw some concessions they are forced to. Military needs to explain why are they meddling in political affairs instead of Politicians being defensive on why couldn’t they face adversity and took a short cut to approach Generals

You are right to raise this point and it is a valid argument. However, I will say that having to taste the bitter drink of dictatorship and gone through what you rightly think they went through, my opinion is that they should closely watch what their members are doing behind the doors. You can’t continue to draw concessions from the quarters which you publicly oppose and blame them for every evil in the country. I can understand the participation in a meeting where they were invited along with other parliamentary leaders of other political parties, but the meeting between Zubair and army chief is uncalled for. Unless , it was arrange with the will of NS. In which case, it is a deception which the whole nation will despise. If on the other hand , it is an individual act of a person , then party should take some actions against it .
I don’t think the PMLN has grown so smart that they can beat the beast in their own game . They should avoid doing these Micky mouse attempts and concentrate on their work at hand … NS should recall the party leadership and hold a convention to pick new leadership . These parties should start adopting democracy in their party internal matters before claiming to be the leader of democracy .

24 Sep, 2020 at 8:49 am #6Zubair knows QJ Bajwa for 4 decades and you are saying he should explain why he met Bajwa. How about Bajwa & co. explain why are they meeting politicians. These political Generals are issue. You are focusing on wrong end, the victims. In USA or any other functional democracy if General is caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he will be shown door. They won’t get an opportunity to blame who placed the cookie jar here.24 Sep, 2020 at 7:01 pm #7Zubair knows QJ Bajwa for 4 decades and you are saying he should explain why he met Bajwa. You know well that in Pakistan , the only ruler and the real rulers have been the army Generals. I am not blaming victim but I am saying that they should use their own little brain and avoid meeting them secretly . Even if Zubair Knew him for ages , he belongs to a opposition party whose leader has been accused of corruption and fleeing the country . His meeting could ruin the efforts of all those who are struggling to keep the generals out of politics. It is interesting to see how good relationship he developed with Bajwa over the last 4 decades. And if you are indeed right , then he should ask his friend that how the ISPR end up using his private meeting and announced it to the country and maligned him to use the occasion to discuss Maryam and Nawaz Sharif and their cases … Do you really think that these corrupt generals are anyone’s friend ? Or they really care about the decade old relationships and won’t use them to take the advantage ?
Now, as far as asking these paleed generals to come clean , who will do that ? You already seen everyone in the media is only accusing the opposition in this whole saga and they are sealed lips talking about the obvious army general’s interference in the country’s politics. Judiciary already has stuck their tail under their butts and grieving their credibility.who else will ask them to resign ? Is this selected PM will do it ? Not a chance.
