    Re: Cricket World Cup 2019

Although it is still few months away, the euphoria, expectations, desires etc have started building up. In my opinion the teams chances to lift the cup are in the following order:

    1. England
    2. India
    3. West Indies
    4. New Zealand
    5. South Africa
    6. Pakistan
    7. Australia
    8. Sri Lanka
    9. Afghanistan
    10. Bangladesh

I think England, India and West Indies have the most balanced and also the most destructive batting line up. India and South Africa probably have the most balanced and threatening bowling attack.

While as a Pakistani, it is always a desire to see Pakistan win but I dont see much of a chance. the batting line-up is not stable as yet. Fakhar, Inam, Babar do have the capability to score but we lack power hitters. The bowling attack is no as potent as it used to be.  Amir since his return has been dismal at his best. Hasan Ali has taken wickets in PSL but can he do the same against the batting mights of India, England and West Indies? Shadab and Imad are also not as threatening as they once seemed to be.

New Zealand and West Indies are two teams that I always like. New Zealand has good players, plays fair and fearless game. Williamson and taylor are doing very well. Southee and Boult are very good bowlers too. I will be immensely happy if West Indies and or New Zealand lift the cup this time.

Who do you think will lift the cup?

I think the winning chances are in this order:

    India

    England

Australia (If smith and Warner are in the team)

    New Zealand

    Pakistan

    South Africa

West indies (I don’t rate WI as it is a one man army)

30 May is the first game between England and South Africa

31 May Pakistan plays its first game against the might Windies

16 June is when Pakistan goes against Indians (provided India still dares to play against the Green shirts)

By June 16th Rahul Ghandi will be PM, so our relationships with India will be bit better. I don’t think our chances are better than Aussies. rest I agree.

    Re: Cricket World Cup 2019

Based on Australia’s performance in last nine ODI’s it seems that they are fast regaining the lost ground and could become a very serious contender for the title.

Pakistan on the other hand is on decline. Always reliant on bowlers and this time it seems that they even cannot rely on bowlers.

    Re: Cricket World Cup 2019

I think Pakistan contingent would look something like the following:

    Fakhr

    Inam

    Babar

    Haris

    M. Rizwan

    Shoaib

    Sarfraz

    Hasan Ali

    Shadab

    Imad

    Usman Shinwari

    Shaheen Afridi

    M. Abbas

I wish if they can also include Asif Ali. There is a possibility that Amir and yasir may sneak in. I dont think Amir and Yasir deserve to be there. I dont know if Abid Ali will be playing 5th ODI against Australia or not. If he does play and scores again, he may be selected. It may be a risk as Abid has very little international experience.

    Re: Cricket World Cup 2019

Pakistan could not get 25 runs in 18 balls with 6 wickets in hand. This is the reality of this team without a world class slogger like Abdul Razzaq. Yes Asif Ali is one who could hit the long ball but he is not a 360 degree player like Jos Buttler or Maxwell. Pakistan has all these nurdlers who nudge and tap but then dont have the capacity to turn singles into doubles without breathing like a bull who suffered bronchoconstriction.

Abid Ali might not have international experience but is the most consistent scorer in List A (recently palyed against England Lions) and Dometic circuit. He deserves a run not just in the next ODI in Dubai but in all 5 ODIs in England before the world cup.  He showed true technique and courage to take on lively bowling as opener. I think he is the best that Pakistan has and must be nurtured and cashed in for atleast the next 5-6 years in Test and ODIs.

I will not be supporting cricket teams of Pakistan as it will be playing under a racist captain, India for using cricket for their political affiliations and wearing military caps,  England for supporting players who were charged with affray and sexual misconduct, Australian if they select cheaters, South African as they select team based color quota rather than performance and Sri Lanka whose administration did not cooperate in match fixing investigation.  This world cup is a just a waste of time.  I hope UK will have effective monitoring of white supremacist who need no  further instigation to unlease al-a Christchurch.

Seems a good choice. Solid batting line up for sure and some seasoned and canny bowlers too

I wish if either Windies or Kiwis lift the cup.
