Re: واقعہ کربلاء

Longitivity in politics count. Ali despite all the advantages of being closer to Mohammad came to power as 4th caliph not an immediate successor. That showed his political skills and cult. Even when he came he had to brutally murder 77 year old man Usman and gave NRO to murderers. This chaotic rise to power had chaotic ending with Ali himself stabbed in mosque within 4 years. His son Hassan took over reins. But a shrewd politician Mavia, a long serving Governor of Syria put political pressure on him and cracked a deal with Hassan that let Mavia be Khalipha and Hassan will succeed him. Hassan like his Dad and later younger brother Hussain had just family name and no political clout. The so called golden era of Khulfa e Rashedeen lasted 3 decades. The first dead man walking died within two years and other three were murdered. Compare that with Mavia who ruled 22 years and passed the reins to his son Yazid. Yazid died young from accident but power remained within family for good 90 years. In 682 Hussain argued Mavia made an agreement that after Mavia power will be given back to Hassan. Mavia said deal was with Hassan in 660 who died within couple of years of deal. And it doesn’t automatically transfer to Hussain. Hassan was a playboy whether he was poisoned by Mavia or one of his victim is a moot point. He was just not carved for power politics. How could he? Like father like son. Hussain had no political clout to take on Mavia and sons. That’s why he was brutally murdered along with his family as they were about to enter Kufa to marshall political opposition. Karbala was not a battle of Haq and saach, it’s a glaring example of stupidity when son of Ali and grandson of Mohammad didn’t digest political reality and pitched his family of 60-80 people including women and kids against 1000+ armed men in an open field at Karbala. Now what happened there was bound to happen. It’s not a tragedy it’s idiocy. But some how all that became holly. Now Ali’s cult get a kick out of those graphic details. Oh he didn’t get water, she was bruised no one cared. Was Hussain on drugs? Why didn’t he see all that coming? Mavia and Yazid gave ample opportunity to Hussain to get into senses and crack a deal like his playboy brother but Hussain was hell bent for Karbala like ending. If there is Mataam it should be not on what Yazeed and his men did but it should be on lack of thought process of Hussain. He not only commit suicide but drove his whole family down in the ditch. These two political genius brothers who couldn’t handle Mavia and son will be the leaders of youthias in haven.
