Darvaish sb, in Pakistani political context, she will always be seen as Abu ki Betti, even if she does not talk about her Abu for couple of years as the real power brokers have a whole brigade of social media workers who are employed to bark on politicians who oppose these power brokers. In my opinion she needs to talk more about her Abbu not because she derives her political capital from her Abu but also that her Abu was victimised and the current relevations about the judge who sentenced him are providing her all the amunitions she needs and having said all this this will increase probability of Marshal Law so some sort of sanity needs to be maintained. She will be a Worthy leader and may be PM one day, if she is not killed.
Abbu ki beti is a given fact and people should be allowed to see her as such. But why does she need to waste her energies on establishing something that is already established and she is enjoying the privileges associated with it??
She needs to broaden her base and appeal. She needs to develop a character of real resistance, taking GHQ head-on with a medium-term strategy as she is up against a medium to a long term plan.
In my assessment, GHQ is working on 10 years plan thru this arrangement. And it has all the control and means to implement it. Her little tactics here and there are not offering any real challenge except for gaining some little respite here and there which GHQ does not mind. In 10 year time, a lot will change and she needs to be prepared for eventualities and oppos along the way.
We have a culture of accusations and counter-accusations where nothing gets proved decisively. This is not going to change in the foreseeable future. Her current political capital and mantra of Abbu victimization are only effective with her current partisan lot — a very limited base. Just today a while ago, a lethal rejoinder of counter-accusation from the judge.
On the other hand, GHQ sympathizers/barkers as you pointed out, are more effective in portraying her and her family as corrupt, confused, power hungry and always after a deal. In fact, I have never seen PMLn winning a war of trends on social media.
